Every year, our employees get to choose an organization to support, so they can have a direct impact on their local community. This year, we’ve donated to charities who work with US Veterans and animals, as well as people with Autism and Down Syndrome. The particular nonprofit organizations that received donations from Pro-Motion Industries include:
Operation Yellow Ribbon
Operation Yellow Ribbon is a New Jersey-based nonprofit organization that supports the United States Military Forces serving in the Middle East. The organization’s primary mission is to collect donated goods and raise funds to ship care packages to US troops on the front lines. In 2021, the charity organization successfully sent over 33,000 pounds of goods to US troops.
In addition to distributing care packages, Operation Yellow Ribbon sets up and promotes welcome home events for local veterans in the South Jersey area. These events are facilitated by volunteers, fire and rescue departments, local police, and patriotic organizations who want returning US troops to get the hero’s welcome they deserve.
Wreaths Across America
Wreaths Across America honors fallen US veterans and those who continue to serve our country. The charity group coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies and special memorial services throughout the year to remember the sacrifices service members made for our freedom. Wreaths Across America also teaches school children about our veterans and their accomplishments through interactive projects and school volunteer opportunities.
Homeward Bound Pet Shelter
Homeward Bound Pet Shelter cares for and rehabilitates over 400 cats and dogs every year. The pet shelter provides stress-free and high-quality housing for animals — whether they’re strays or surrendered by previous owners — until they’re fostered or adopted by a loving family. Homeward Bound Pet Shelter also gives every animal in its care proper medical attention, including vaccinations, flea control, and heartworm protection. It’s also run by a team of volunteers who deeply care for animal welfare.
National Down Syndrome Society
The
National Down Syndrome Society is a charity group focused on enhancing the quality of life of all people with Down syndrome. It is made up of more than 300 Down syndrome organizations across the country that provide local support for families, neighborhood communities, and welfare caregivers. Local support could be in the form of education for new parents, recreational activities, and training for teachers and medical professionals.
Beyond local support, the National Down Syndrome Society also facilitates various programs to support people with Down syndrome through different aspects of their life. These programs cover inclusive education, employment, health and wellness, and community fundraising events.
Autism New Jersey
Autism New Jersey is a nonprofit agency dedicated to helping individuals on the autism spectrum and their families live safe and enriching lives. They provide support through education for parents and professionals, autism awareness fundraising events, information services, and campaigning for public policy initiatives. This is all in place to ensure the autistic community live in a society where they have the opportunities and services they need.
